Plastic pollution is widely recognized as one of the most significant conservation crises of our time, posing a threat to ecosystems, wildlife, and human health. And while it is a global concern, its impacts are felt most intensely at the local level. It highlights the importance of addressing the problem through local initiatives, supported by community partnerships and coalitions, alongside larger-scale efforts.  

This funding opportunity aims to address marine debris issues by supporting the creation of coalitions and partnerships, particularly among underserved communities who often face barriers to accessing resources and engaging in marine debris mitigation efforts.
